It started slowly, laying in the groundwork and when it began to pick up the pace, it was difficult to leave the journey for anything.

Almost finished and boy oh boy did it get exciting!

I love Mel’s books and as soon as I was able to start reading, I’ve had difficulty parting with it.

This was a book that surprised me, delighted me, made me cry and enraged me with the injustice of the time, unfortunately still a part of all of our lives, though in other forms. Like all of the Kristin Hannah books that I have read, this story will not be forgotten by and will return to me in flashes as I go on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story gripped me as surely as Elsa skilfully sewed the red silk dress that transformed her life, A mother, a wife and a hard worker, Elsa no longer doubts her ability in this family that has welcomed her as one of them.

Tanya Heaslip is a skilful writer taking me with her as she details her feelings of not fitting in and filling me with the gloom she felt. As the Winter eased and Spring brightened up the land everything changed and with it Tanya began to find the magic she had been searching for much of her life.

This is a book that needs to be read. It tells a tale of how things were, and in some ways still are. Racism is an insidious thing. I’m just getting a sense of how deeply this lawyer will be impacted by his decision to represent the alleged killer of an esteemed elderly couple from the wealthy side of a Southern town.

Slow going.

Wow! I may always feel unsure about doctors’ intentions after reading about this. Seriously, justice for survivors of domestic abuse is not easily won, if at all; and this would be a dream come true to have ‘real’ justice for the perpetrator of the abuse.

I’m very partial to PI/Police mysteries however they are not usually humorous. I have just had the biggest laugh about the main character summing up his feelings about driving with his new RN in comparison to his partner. Hilarious, or maybe my sense of humour! 😆

I’ve been waiting for this booking for too long! After reading a teaser, I was hooked and now I can lose myself in the seamier depths of Paris as the story unfolds.

Slowly weaving the plot and pulling the threads in tightly in this mystery.

I’m becoming a staunch Tanya Heaslip fan - I love this book. After reading the first book of life on Bond Station, I was interested to hear more about life at the boarding school in Adelaide.

So far, I’m finding this story is beautifully crafted; descriptions and characters. ‘The bullock story’ springs to mind. 😆🙏

I’m enthralled with this book of Chris Hammer’s and once again, revelling in his literary language, ‘He looks across the road, a time traveller fresh from his Tardis’. In reference to Martin (journalist) returning to his home town after many years of absence.
