I just spent so much time editing out any reference to second, minute, hour in my own Fantasy novel. This dude uses those time references all the time!

I should have just left them in I guess.

okay, finished reading. found a few little issues and some things I want to carry over / change in my editing of book 2.

I've updated my amazon files as well, so the ones there will match the cleaner edits I've made in a day or two.

Ugh, found an error where I used "here" instead of "hear". Fixed it, obviously, but that's a killer.

With 90,000 words, a few are bound to escape my notice, but that one hurts.

rereading before I edit book #2 just for continuity, etc. glad to say I found no major issues to fix.

only big change I made was a line where I said something happened "right off the bat", which I looked up and is a 1800's term around baseball - makes no sense in a medieval fantasy. oops!

I am enjoying this story, but it's written really strange (?).

Every single thing is stated, and then clarified and then maybe someone else confirms what happens.

It reminds me of an Alan Gratz book where he's trying to teach kids about what the time was like and explain what certain items were, etc.

I dunno, I'm finding it really strange to read, like I'm being fed the story.

Great, but not overly complex science. Interesting characters you care about. Fun storylines that don't take themselves too seriously.

Great read.

Surprised at how much hobb has added in this final stretch. Excited to see what comes in the final quarter

I don't notice how big some books are on kindle, but this thing is a chunker, 300k+ words - 800 pages or so apparently. off to a bit of a slow start, but it's a bit of a reset, so that makes sense. enjoying it so far, but book 2 had a better flow - we'll see if it picks up

I think The Travelers is the book I most enjoyed as a reader. It was difficult to write with the multiple pov's and timelines, but the challenge was worth it in the end.

Dragon Tongue, I feel, is my BEST book, so far. In terms of crafting and pace and character development, I think it's a great mix.

I'm about 20k into writing book two and glad I did this reread to collect some thoughts. On we go!

Great part of the book. I think I really did a good job with the pacing this time around. There's been enough little bits of action here and there leading to the conclusion and things start really cooking right around 75%, which I think sets up for the conclusion.

Still finding the odd error to fix, or little words here and there. Not much. Maybe 1 every 5 chapters or so.

Still really happy with this book. I wish I had made a few things happen a bit quicker/earlier, but I guess that's what editors do. Working on book 2 now and glad I'm rereading as there's a few things I took note of to keep consistent in the overall story

Found like 3 little errors, ugh. Fixed for future buyers at least. Getting a good feel for my characters and noticed a few things about some of the settings I need to carry into book two. Most of all, I'm really happy with this one on a reread extended from writing. It's really good 👍
