I hate this book. It reads like an audio book set on 2x speed where you kind of get the gist because you are hearing key words and phrases but all of the joy is stripped off from it. THE ENDING BETTER BE GOOD. God help me get there

I hate this book. It feels like it’s written in Russian and portly translated into English, removing all emotion from every sentence. These are not likely conversations or reactions so far. I’m not sure why I’m bothering… oh, because I downloaded it and here it is. Jesus this is the worst.

When I read the first chapter it mentioned that there was a room that was a portal to 1997. Now I thought that was a weird gimmick, but anyways, i was excited for it. Now that I’m halfway through the book and this portal hasn’t been mentioned again, I am realizing the room was just a mess. Now I’m just left to read about this rich family with no portal back in time. Kind of bummed.

Trying to pick this up again after putting it down after page 5 a few years ago. After reading the reviews I'm not sure I will finish it. One last try...

My coworker (a 30+ yr old male) gave me his book, with the disclaimer: "I highlighted sections of this book when I was a younger 20-something pervert." Has there ever been a better warning? Looking forward to reading this classic.

great book to get me through Jury Duty today!!

Lucky to have the earlier released UK version :) will be a slow read as its too heavy (feels like 20 lbs) to commute with.

I may have grown out of these historical fictions. I may need a new author for English history.
