I can’t decide if I love it or hate it. I find myself impatient with it wanting it to go somewhere…

So far I can’t decide if I live it or hate it.

About half way through and it’s a highly readable and interesting journey so far although I’m beginning to feel bogged down in all the code names and such.

Couldn finish Finally gave up pretending that the endless tedium between moments that were interesting was worth it

Hooked immediately. Now THAT'S what I need in a summer read :). Birdie, I'll be back...

A history of a family's struggle with mental illness and the barbaric history of its treatment, the impact of Toronto-born Gerry Firzgerald had on University of Toronto, reflections of Toronto past, vaccine distribution and a (sometimes annoying) tribute to Freud. It's astonishing & sad that the name Gerry (Gerald) Fitzgerald is not as well known as the names Banting & Best.

Now THIS is a good, engaging read. Exactly what I knew to expect of a Judy Blume novel!

Half way through and it's a struggle. So bored not sure I'm gonna finish this one.

"There is now concept of justice in Cree culture. The nearest word is 'kintohpatatin', which loosely translates to you've been listened to...by someone compassionate and fair..." In his honest, straightforward recounting of his life, Metatawabin gives the reader to engage in kintohpatatin. A must read.

Accessible and wonderful.

Interesting theory that could have been spouted in 1/4 of the length. Some good tips though.

Mystifying, head-ache producing, slow, slow trudging. But worth persevering for whatever tidbits I might retain for further exploration.

I'm hooked and that's just from the prologue!

I'm about half way through and struggling to care about these characters and finish the book. If any of you have read it and have encouraging words about it being worth my while to finish it, please, let me know!

Well past chapter two. Rambling, seemingly stream of consciousness, manic narrative has taken on a better pace and rhythm as each of the characters story is revealed. Definitely enjoying.
