the funny thing about this book is that when you finally think that you're understanding what's happening and who are the main characters, suddenly new stories appear and new characters.
for example WHO ARE ARDEN AND TON???

Chapter 5
I enjoyed the scene with Wen and Hilo: it allowed us to get to know Hilo’s character better, especially in terms of how he differs from Lan.
I’m still quite confused, but I’m starting to put the pieces together

Chapters 4
I really liked the scene with the grandfather (?): it gives us a better understanding of the clan’s structure and hierarchy, as well as Lan and Hilo's family dynamics. The grandfather was a very interesting character to get to know. Lan, on the other hand, is a character I can really relate to.

chapter 2
I’m still very confused. I’m confused about what the green bones and jade are – I can’t work out whether they’re objects or entities. for example it says ‘a very drunk and angry green bone’ – so what exactly is this green bone? I’m also very confused about the main characters: who are they? how did they end up here? what are they doing and what’s their goal?

AND it is not reversible so she'll never get her memories fully back??

It kicks off straight away without any explanation whatsoever, leaving you feeling a bit confused, but I found the style easy to read; it wasn’t at all tedious. I hope there’ll be a few more explanatory moments as it goes on, but for now it’s been a good start.

90 pages and I'll finish this book. I'm not ready, I don't want to leave those characters, Odessa meant so much to me I love her so deeply I would spend the rest of my life reading about her
