I’m enjoying this, but sadly as it’s a library copy, and there are reservations on it, I’m going to have to take it back and read the second half at a later date. I’m pretty confident of finding a copy back on the shelves in a few weeks time, as it’s classified as non-fiction and will therefore be invisible to many users of the library….

I had to return this to the library, as it was reserved. Reading halted - to be resumed.

90 pages in, and this has been recalled to the library!
Will have to re-Reserve at a later date, when I can tackle an 800 page novel....a shame as it’s shaping up really well.

Reading for Book Group, and as it’s such a massive book, we decided that we would discuss sections 1, 2 and 3 in December, and the rest in January. I love the Shardlake series, so I’ve found no difficulty in doing this....I’ve read them all, bar this one and its predecessor. Will write a review when I’ve finished it all.

Very annoying - about a third of the way through, had it recalled due to library reservation list! I’m enjoying this read very much; Melvyn Bragg has brought wide ranging aspects of literature, film, theatre, history and much more to British TV and radio. He is a giant figure ‘in our time’, and this story of his upbringing in a small Cumbrian town makes fascinating reading. Hope to finish soon!

Had to give up on this as it was due back at the library for another request. Not sure if I'll get it out again....found it a bit slow so far.

and thoroughly enjoying it - but it's all starting to go terribly wrong for the Zeps....
