Poor William. Nobody is believing him. Not even his own mom. I know he can do this.

I am really excited because now that William's family has harvested the maize and doesn't have to worry about hunger, he can now focus on creating the windmill.

I am wondering if William will somehow be able to go back to school.

I knew William could do it. He is really smart and it's his passion to work on things that involve science. Now he wants to create a bigger windmill. I already know he can do it.

I believe William can do this. He and Gilbert are very smart with batteries and energy because they created a dynamo with a bike and radio.

It's really good that everything is starting to come back to normal. William and his family and can eat more now that the Dowe is ripe.

These poor, poor people of Malawi. They just can't get a break. First the famine, and now sickness. I am wondering how William and his family will stay alive as they keep eating less and less food.

I am really upset that William could not stay in his school and had to drop out. The school was his passion. I am hoping he won't give up on his passion for science and how things work.

This is not how anybody should celebrate their Christmas. Starving. I am really grateful that this is not in the United States.

I'm getting more and more nervous as this famine is getting worse. I don't think William and his family will be able to feed themselves and the dog Khamba. I'm nervous to see what will happen next.

I have no idea how Malawi is going to get out of this. It's not like they can grow any maize because it's not raining at all. How are they going to survive?

Things are not looking good for Malawi. I am hoping that things will turn out ok for William and his family.

We all take all of our things for granted. In Malawi, electricity is very rare. They don't have good water, or air conditioning, or ovens, or lots of food. William has to hunt for food! We are very lucky that our lives aren't as hard as theirs.

I am hoping William's Uncle's death won't lead to bigger problems.

Even though nothing has really happened yet and William is still talking about his life in Africa, I am really fascinated. The activities the kids in Africa do arent really different than what American kids do. For example, playing with toy cars and kicking soccer balls around.

It is very interesting that they believe in witches and wizards where they live in Africa.

I really enjoy learning about the culture that William lives in. It is very different than where we live. We have lots of things that they don't have in Malawi.

I haven't really found this book interesting. Nothing crazy has really happened so far. I am really hoping this book will get better as I continue to read.

I am wondering how Bryson got into a fight. I am wondering how it started.

I want to know more about the fight that Bryson was in! Why did he get into the fight?

This book is very interesting so far with every chapter being new characters. This style reminds me of the books Wonder and Refugee where they are told by different characters as well.

Fatima likes to write everything in her notebook on the walk home from school. Everything she does or sees. I am wondering why she likes to do that?

Marcus is a jerk. He pushed Pia off her skateboard and harasses Stevie. I am wondering if there is anything bad happening at home where he lives besides his parents splitting up.

I am connecting this book with the book Young Man With Camera. Stevie is in a bad situation. He is getting bullied really bad but he can't tell anybody. This is similar to the book Young Man with Camera where the main character named T is in the exact same situation.

I am wondering what happened to Pia's sister Santi. Could she have gotten in a skateboard accident and hurt herself?

Is Bit going to try to cell the candy to the men at the pool table!?

I am getting a little suspicious of "The Low Cuts". I don't think they are buying the candy just to eat it. I think they are going to use the candy as a way to get more money.

I am wondering why Bit from "The Low Cuts" is in such a big hurry to get to Ms. CeeCee's house.

I am wondering what The Low Cuts are using the change they stole for. The book says that today it was for something else. What could it be?

This book has been very interesting. It appears that each chapter is a different street. There are a new set of characters in the second chapter. This is a very early prediction but I am predicting that TJ and Jasmine from Chapter 1 will have an encounter with "The Low Cuts" from the second chapter.
