I'm in the middle of reading The Hobbit for the first time, and I have to admit I am surprised at the writing style of J.R.R. Tolkien. I never did research prior, and the only experience I have with the franchise are the movies, so I was very surprised at how humorous and (whimsical?) his writing is. I was expecting a slower paced, more serious writing style but that is not the case at all.

This post lunch/mid-day slog is kicking my butt today. Coffee, I need coffee!!

Local library had a book sale this weekend. Only bought 5 books, but found a series by David & Leigh Eddings called "The Dreamers". It's a high fantasy that doesn't have the greatest reviews, but for $1 each I couldn't pass on it. I did just find out though that the Authors (Husband/wife) spent a year in jail in the 70's for child abuse....so there is that horrible piece of information.
