How I love Neal Stepenson's books--excited, intrigued and informed/educated all at once, and in such long and immersive novels. One of my favourite authors, and I'm trying to work my way through all of his books.

I love Stephenson's books, they take me miles out of my intellectual comfort zone and open my eyes to the essential language of maths. However, they are usually massively long, this one being no exception, and I don't the chance to read often enough/for long enough so they usually take me ages to finish. I've been reading this for a good few weeks now and I'm only about half way through!

Just wanted to add that I'm astounded by how in advance of global events (e.g. the latest out of the Himalayas area) Stephenson manages to be.

I've just 'read' the first 400 pages which are all illustration-only, and very very good (of course--Selznick is a true artist with visuals as well as words). Now to the words bit!

Have to stop for a bit as I have library books newly loaned that won't be renewable (and I own this one so can go back to it later).

Just to say that I had to wait a very long time for this book (requested from the library service) and already, just avery few pages in, there are so many sentences and paragraphs I want to read again and again, to commit them to memory they are so beautifully written.

Almost finished. Absolutely fascinating exploration that is making it necessary for me to reread Mieville's books, and in the order they were written!

Just reading the first few pages threw the whole world into sharp relief as Ensler reminded me of facts I know but had conveniently shelved at the back of my mind.

Oh my! This is an amazing book, such a depth of understanding of both human and canine nature, such wonderful imaginative and vivid use of language. Not yet finished (oh I'll be so sad when I have). Sara Baume might be set to become one of my favourites!

Don't think I'm ever going to stop reading this one!

I'm just savouring this as it's so marvellous!

Actually started this a few days ago, but Goodreads doesn't seem to allow you to change the date!

I wouldn't usually go for a book with this kind of title, but it was recommended to me, and it turns out that it's fundamentally a mindfulness book (with some neuroscience thrown in), and looks like it might be a sensible choice after all!
