Was reading this while walking on the treadmill at the gym and had to subtly wipe my tears away with my sweat towel

after reading so much adult fiction and actually good writing this year this one’s a bit hard to get through because of how cringe it is but that didn’t stop me from tearing through 65% of it in one sitting on the plane ✊ !

FINALLY picking this back up in physical form … almost a year later

so many people have raved about this book so i’m giving it a fair shot…. but so far it’s really losing me!!!! WHY write from the perspective of a 4 year old and then not even try to not make it sound like the musings of a full grown adult? what 4 year old knows what a homophone is? i actually scoffed when reading that. but alas ill keep going!

for a book about writers, the writing is pretty bad so far lmao
plot only just now starting to get a little bit interesting but i will be seeing it through regardless
