DNF. I couldn’t get on board with the romance portion and the way the love story was brewing. Very rushed, very awkward. Maybe it’s the audible version that wasn’t for me. All I know is I won’t be finishing this book.

Re-read because I can’t remember how it ends and book 2 is calling my name

I guess I’m going to reread before Onyx Storm. Like I said I wouldn’t do

I’m so conflicted I don’t even want to rate this book. It was equally heartbreaking and so well-written, yet uncomfortable and made me want to DNF about 45 times. That said, I stuck it out and finished it. The fact that this is labeled as young adult absolutely baffles me.

Ya know this phrases in books you automatically try to reenact in your head because “what does that even mean?!” … I’ve been trying to “shake myself internally” the last two days. 🙄

Anyway. Other than a few repetitive phrases, this book has been promising. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
