I love the way they make it official. It’s so cute and I love that it’s from Garrett’s perspective.

The idea of Garrett being absolutely infatuated by Hannah’s singing carries over perfectly from the book to the show.

I like that the book shows that Hannah doesn’t just like Justin for the sake of love. But she has confided hope in him that he will make her feel whole again by fixing something that is broken. I wish they had included this in show!! This gives Hannah more depth as she doesn’t simply “like a guy.”

Belmont Garett is SOOO similar to show Garrett. The casting was spot on! Belmont is brutally honest like show Garrett. At the first Sigma party Garrett says that Hannah is “not his type”. Which hurts Hannah. He’s also emotional but tends to hide it (as the book describes him. There are just so many instances of their similarities. Belmont Cameli is truly Garrett Graham.

CRONELIKE WHAT A WONDERFUL WORD !

Such an interested turn to have Carrie go to a church and add the layer of religious confusion back into the crumbly mess of Carrie White’s mind. It also completes a subplot to have Carrie confront her mother at the end tying up a plot so elusive people almost forget about it until it is sneakily tied back in.

a. I almost wish that the book included some scenes before the shower scene. perhaps shifting the timeline so as to have a few more events to characterize Carrie.
b. The final narration shift back to Carrie states that the girl was embarrassed, shameful, mortified, and horrified. I think another way of taking this would be to have Carrie gain a sudden confidence; illustrating a true shift.

It’s getting good!! I I’ve King’s development of evil twisted characters. In this book it’s fascinating to learn more about Billy Nolan.

it’s so good so far! Each time I’ve picked it up today it’s only been for a few minutes but I feel like I’m starting to loose steam. But hopefully I’ll get back into right now!! Also I’m aware of the infamous red scene from the book but I know nothing of the surrounding plot and any of its details. So I’m curious to see the lead up and fall action. I assume the prom scene is the climax???

There is simply something about Stephen King’s writing that is this so manageable and thought-provoking. I could sit and read the rest of this book in one sitting. It’s so good so far.

Another moment where the author shows how clever she is. In a book full of stories Lin uses another class tale to illustrate how an individual’s pride clouds his judgement. The lines can be taken at face value by young readers but there is also room for advanced individuals to scrutinize the author’s work.

It was so clever to have a double meaning introduced here. While Minli and Dragon are separated they both go on to believe they have each “collected” the “borrowed line”. This adds an element of mystery and suspense to an otherwise gentle story. A double meaning may seem like an advanced topic for such a book I think it’s encouraging for young readers.

so freakin good

I’m reading about her interaction with a spider. I’m confused to the point of frustration how she basically “loves all creatures equally”. I take the stance that it’s impossible to be perfect all the time. So realistically how can you approach each and all creatures the same way it simply doesn’t seem possible. ???

I just finished the first chapter. I know she departed the book into the creatures that have changed her but I don’t know if it’s by chapter or there are multiple chapters in each section ??? Anyway what I’ve read about Molly the Scottish something dog has been good. It’s cute very simple maybe a little too simple tho.
