There is simply something about Stephen King’s writing that is this so manageable and thought-provoking. I could sit and read the rest of this book in one sitting. It’s so good so far.

Another moment where the author shows how clever she is. In a book full of stories Lin uses another class tale to illustrate how an individual’s pride clouds his judgement. The lines can be taken at face value by young readers but there is also room for advanced individuals to scrutinize the author’s work.

It was so clever to have a double meaning introduced here. While Minli and Dragon are separated they both go on to believe they have each “collected” the “borrowed line”. This adds an element of mystery and suspense to an otherwise gentle story. A double meaning may seem like an advanced topic for such a book I think it’s encouraging for young readers.

so freakin good

I’m reading about her interaction with a spider. I’m confused to the point of frustration how she basically “loves all creatures equally”. I take the stance that it’s impossible to be perfect all the time. So realistically how can you approach each and all creatures the same way it simply doesn’t seem possible. ???

I just finished the first chapter. I know she departed the book into the creatures that have changed her but I don’t know if it’s by chapter or there are multiple chapters in each section ??? Anyway what I’ve read about Molly the Scottish something dog has been good. It’s cute very simple maybe a little too simple tho.

The beginning was really good but I’m in the middle and it’s getting a bit slow. It might be the chapter I’m reading but it feels like meaningless back and forth between characters. idk
