Short chapters, but interesting.

Her lack of sleep would be nightmarish for me. I think she’s a bit too hard on Reva and Trevor’s a fucking idiot. Good book though so far.

I'm enjoying this book, but I feel I need to go back and read when Haller and Bosch meet for the first time. Haller is suddenly thrown into Nine Dragons without an explanation and that always bothered me given that it's just a Bosch book.

Personally, though, retirement is not going to last for Bosch. But, I guess we'll see. Right, Connelly?

I really like this book, but there's an inconsistency which I am shocked by. In this book, suddenly Connelly changes Bosch's childhood story which is that he was told by a cop that his mother was found dead in an alleyway in Las Angeles. Now, in this book, we learn he was visited by a nun and I guess not a cop. So now the NUN informed him of his mother's passing. WHICH ONE IS IT, MICHAEL?!

Well, now Bosch believes there are two killers: The Dollmaker and The Concrete Blonde. He's now begun investigating The Concrete Blonde.

Currently, this is my favourite book of the Connelly series. It's even better than Lost Light. However, I know who The Poet is thanks to The Narrows. Still, it's a great book because I have no idea how the identity of The Poet is going to be revealed. Connelly's really taking you on a joyride for this one.

I find it kind of lame that the book is titled because Bosch is retiring in four years from the L.A.P.D. but besides that, it's a great read. Bosch takes on two cases this time and only one is opened unsolved. Plus he seems to have figured out who the murderer was of the open unsolved unit.

So Bosch has now ganged up with Rachel Walling who I liked in The Narrows. Unfortunately for Bosch, Rachel left Bosch out of anger like McCaleb. Now though, they'll be working together again.

Jerry Edgar was introduced for a brief period of time, but I hope he resurfaces. He's my favourite partner of Bosch's even though the two are in very different departments.

Bosch has been introduced and McCaleb has definitely begun suspecting him. I like the back and forth between the two characters. It doesn't seem rushed and doesn't seem forced.
