It reminds me of the first time I read The Fellowship of the Ring. The feeling of entering a world you don't want to leave, and one that doesn't leave you.

It's so painful I can almost physically feel it, but oh so interesting. I can't put it down.

Part of what got me reading this book was that it won a Hugo award, and then the two books after this one l won Hugo awards in subsequent years. Also my wife was reading random reviews and someone wrote they used to recommend the Mistborn trilogy until this trilogy came along. I got so curious and had to find out for myself.

So far it's a slower start than the first book, but still enjoyable.
