Cannot finish this book. Tedious and repetitive.

Starts strong but sags in the second act. Tends to meander into repetitive first person thoughts. A little hokey. But not terrible. Promises to improve, assuming something happens aside from dinners and bantery rides through the woods.

This book starts with a bang. Then around chapter 11, it jumps back to backstory that has been trudging along for several chapters now like a wet blanket. Will persevere a few more chapters.

Thus so far, this book gets better and better. Takes us on some unexpected turns. Highly recommend!

Insanely great book.

I abandoned this book.

I've been reading rave reviews about this book and decided to give it a go, despite the fact that I couldn't imagine reading about one dude stranded for 378 pages would be much fun. I was wrong. This book is riveting and hard to put down. Loving it.

2nd act slump but still pretty good. lots of similar scenes where they're on the road and distrustful of the girl and each other. Let's pick up the pace.

This book is actually pretty exceptional, despite my snarky comments before. Unfolds nicely. Prose style is quite elegant.

I'm going to call it : The kids are vampires of the apocalypse! Vee vant to suck your blood! bleh bleh bleh!

nothing has happened. but it's a women in prison thing. so that's good. and it's not trying to be so hip it craps bowler hats, like orange is the new black. so that's good too. the gaolers are mean. Sargent is a jerk! If I were there, I'd punch him!

Although set in the same universe as Old Man's War, the Ghost Brigades is a much different story. It's also shaping up to be another one of my all-time favorites. I cannot believe I'm only just getting into this guy's books now.

So far, this book is suspenseful, fast/paced and intriguing.

Loving this book. What beat it out for the Hugo?
