An hour into the audiobook and I need to swap to reading it because the narrator is too good at shrill/whiny tone and it is the most grating to my ears. 😂🥲

I’m just over halfway through the book when I realize that it’s kind of just been muddling through for a while. Surely this means I’m nearing the end? Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I think Natalie Mae has done an incredible job of creating an interesting and really fascinating world. I want to know so much more about the magic, but we don’t see enough action within it.

Jack Calihan is unfortunately one of my least fave audiobook narrators, especially in this book where it sounds like he is trying far too hard to sound tough. As he does have a naturally deep voice, his feminine voices are... well, it takes me out of it and makes me cringe. I would have preferred Lessa Lamb read the whole book herself.
