I wonder what a Monkey Island with art done by Marc will be like! nothing short of superb I wager !

we take the ability to make a “programed” set of instructions carried out automatically for granted, even more so, ones that respond to feedback of sorts! one can achieve that today with a computer smaller than the size of a Cheerios piece! you need something the size of a large wardrobe in the 60s! and tapes and tape readers and so on!

يوجد بعض الوصف في الكتاب يبدوا انه اضافات روائية من المؤلف!
مثلا: في وصف القاتل عند حبل المشنقة:"لانه شعر بان الحياة لذيذة ومن حقة ان يعيش"!! وكيف لاي احد ان يعرف ماذا كان يفكر القاتل؟!
لم يعجبني هذا وافضل ان يكون بدون بهارات درامية

When I came across the description of the dragon I suddenly noticed my McFarlane dragon looking me straight in the face while on my bed! also, been at the moment reminiscing about early 90s and old times…the timing of grabbing this couldn’t have been more perfect! so far, totally loving it.

love how the book shows the process of making some of the works included. one get to see the initial design and how it evolves, like how the bio mechanical horse for Paladin gotten a more pushed out perspective and a more active stance to give the drawing an impactful feel.

James Cameron did what ai art do today more than a decade ago before there was ai art! he did it with the art of Roger Dean. and he’s gotten away with it like ai art today! Dean like Moebius have a ton of influence on so many things.

there is the “JUNGLE” and there’s a “Rainforest”. I love the first since I was a young child and still do. the fictional jungle thingamajig, with elements from Africa, India and South America thrown together and a classic look to it. and the actual real rainforest which I also love a ton. The Jungle Cruise is one of my favorite JUNGLES with Marc Davis’s magic!
