This audiobook is fantastic, I really recommend it. Rick narrates and sometimes someone hits one of those meditation brass bowls and it’s relaxing

This is actually one of the biggest cliffhangers I’ve ever encountered in a book

This is insane. As it’s depicted in North Korea, unlike the German concentration camps, there were no “good times” before you were taken to the camps. You’re born in the camps and die in the camps, unknowing anything else or what you did to deserve being there.

Now I think out of the McCarthy books I’ve read, they’ve been some of my favs of all time. But this book is a true wtf. Like someone read clockwork orange and went “that’s nice” and then wrote a book with more gnarly content
