mc is so me-coded sometimes it hurts to read 😭

the world building is a little awkward and it's giving acotar...but why do I kinda like it 😭

listening to the audiobook — having it read by the author herself deepens the experience for me, and I resonate with a lot of the poems that I've listened to so far with a lot of experiences from my own childhood, coming from a mixed race household. the imagery in the poems easily helps to paint a picture of what the author has experienced throughout her life as well, which I really like.

it's still very predictable but there's more romantic tension so I'll take it 😍

not really the type to read about dragons, but tried it anyways. I liked it for maybe 10 pages and then it started to give divergent-with-dragons. the world building is great, but the dialouge is so corny at times I can't take it 💀💀
