This is such an incredibly *readable* novel, even though strictly speaking the plot doesn't actually move that fast. But it's remarkable how much I want to keep reading.

Well, I'm just over halfway done and the following has happened:

- Elizabeth turns down an annoying dude's proposition
- Lots of walking
- Card playing
- Elizabeth turns down the other annoying dude's proposition

Fucking thrilling

It's about as dry as I feared it would be. But I don't dislike it as much as Mark Twain did, who wrote in a letter to Joseph Twichell in 1898, "Every time I read Pride and Prejudice I want to dig her up and beat her over the skull with her own shin-bone."

Continuing in this year's trend of "books I never actually read before"

I hate not finishing books but this was just too boring. A third of the way in and maybe 2 or 3 things had happened.

I have no idea what's going on with all the intrigue and murder plots but I'm having a good time

This is a BEAST

I'm over halfway through this book and I do not understand the premise. It's still possible that it will be explained, but my hope is dwindling. Side note: I never thought I'd find a full-length novel that only has about 3 scenes with an action or plot point. It's more of a series of loosely-connected essays in dialog form about simulated consciousness.

Well, it's not exactly action-packed, but I guess I wouldn't call it miserable either

I tried reading Foundation when I was a young kid but I don't think I could have appreciated it at the time. Let's see if that's changed.

This is one of the most impressive books I've ever read. The sheer effort and depth of knowledge alone is incredible.

I'm so excited to be so excited about this. I LOVE it when I can't wait to get back to reading a book. (Here's hoping it keeps this pace up!)

Psyched about this, please don't let me down!
