Still waiting for it to "grab" me. About a third of the way through and a lot is going on and I feel really left out of it all. I'm sure it'll be explained in time, but in the meantime I'm just left with questions!

Overall, wordy. The last 4 to 5 chapters were easily the best in the novel, and I'm left feeling the rest of the book had been like the end: An even blend of action, dialogue, and description that really worked for me. I don't think a lot of the book was totally necessary for the ending, and felt like it took a lot of "work" to get to the ending.

Tigana has a lot of little pieces, that I hopefully wish will all come together in the end. I find myself skimming through "character development", which reads more like plain character thinking and little growth, waiting for the interesting bits of plot continuation. The end of the book has a high bar set to pull everything together!

A little long-winded so far, but behind the slightly complex structure of language an interesting and compelling story is unraveling...
