In the chapter on God’s love: “When we looked at God's wisdom, we saw something of his mind; when we thought of his power, we saw something of his hand and his arm; when we considered his word, we learned about his mouth; but now, contemplating his love, we are to look into his heart. We shall stand on holy ground; we need the grace of reverence, that we may tread it without sin.”

“There is tremendous relief in knowing that His love for me is utterly realistic, based at every point on prior knowledge of the worst about me, so that no discovery now can disillusion Him about me….”

I’m taking my time with this book, reading a few pages on my lunch break. Just a few pages gives me enough to think about until the next day.

Found this gem in the preface: “The substitution of NIV for the original KJV quotations of Scripture signifies only a wish for my book to have maximum usefulness and at no point changes my meaning.”

Except words have meaning, and swapping them out changes the context meaning. I wish he had kept all the verses in the KJV version.

I’m enjoying this way more than I thought I would. I need a screen adaptation STAT.

The plot is slow but good. My main beef with this book is the writing style. A 170-word “paragraph” run-on sentence followed by a one-word sentence. Really? Each word is specifically chosen though, very few filler words, so I give the author credit for that.
