Why do series authors feel the need to write more and more than what is required to tell the story.

I love this character and his stories, but Hurwitz is annoying with extra descriptions and exposition that makes me think WTF.

20% in and I'm already tired of the book.

WTF, Hurwitz, WTF?

In the first 30m of the book, numerous characters were introduced and now with 50% of the book done, I am still struggling to remember who's who, what their motivations are, what their intentions are and how they are linked to each other.

The author skipped over character introductions and development, including the protagonist making it difficult to root for anyone. And I don't even know who the antagonist is yet.

Well... the book is not about "Total" Olympics and neither narrates "every obscure, hilarious, dramatic and inspiring tale worth knowing"; that is if you limit Olympics only to the USA and don't count the rest of the world into the mix.

So far it's a 3-star book minus 2-stars for the misleading title and subtitle.
