Enjoyed alternating between stories I knew and this which I didn't, thus far my favourite and Gerwig could really slay with this one

#2 The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe - the story I was most familiar with so I don't have an critique upon re-read, it's an institution (and my favourite Christmas watch)

The heaviest book I've read all year and it's only 220 pages

I really thought this would be set in Covent Garden but turns out there are seven actual alarm clocks - especially because they're a prank for one guy always oversleeping, as a tired gal I feel perceived 🫣

LFF prep via a hard to find audiobook located on Libro.fm (thanks for enabling me Millicent 💓)

Via audiobook by Dan Stevens of this translation - do write in to let me know if I should check out another. At one point Odysseus says that he can do throwing sports but his legs are too "flabby" for running, made me chuckle. Enjoying how much Athena just seems to wander round like a hype woman in disguise for Telemachus and Odysseus.

Don't know if need all the answers I'm getting but the storytelling is still so atmospheric I don't mind

#1 The Magician's Nephew - I'd quite like to hear Aslan's lovely song, singing lion creating a world sparks wonderful imagery. At points quite comical, Jadis is truly quite a caricature of evil but there's that spiritual, moral sincerity that redeems the simplicity of the Biblical allegory and the sillier aspects of the characters (@ young Diggory learn to # respect women)

my phone died while I was at the theatre but when I left, I was delighted to learn that Foyles is open late so I bought this as an emergency book - the moon was full and the night was indeed white.

This will sound silly given the pun, but I love how cheery and dare I say, whimsical, Wimsey is, it makes these books a delight to read, even when he's just going through the motions of interviewing witnesses and background characters
