Interesting choice to have the book take place 12 years later, did not expect.

There's so many characters and parallel plots at the beginning that it's hard to follow, but still enjoyable.

this book just shows so far how much of an arrogant power demon this guy was and for that reason I'm inclined to say I will not be finishing it.

It's also incredibly worrisome that he was the single reason for the Vietnam more effort being scaled by an order of magnitude and also making the presidential role more authoritative

Up to now this book has been a slog, but it's getting more interesting. The amount of gore is not to my taste though.

When Robert Jordan was talking about his dream of sleeping with various women, I completely lost context. And as I mentioned before, I've had to jump through more hoops than normal to contextualize the setting of the book, which would have been unnecessary if Hemingway had established the circumstances more clearly.

Although the introduction was confusing in the sense that it took me a longer than usual amount of time to understand the setting. Already, the tension built by the author is enthralling.

This book so far is boring and simply a narrative. The main takeaway is that investors tried to dissociate uncertainty from investing by claiming that past volatility is indicative of future uncertainty, such that the risk could be quantifiable. Even with hindsight, this seems very naive given the multi-factored nature of investing.

“It's very simple. As you grow, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty-two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty-two. Aging is not just decay, you know. It's growth. It's more than the negative that you're going to die, it's also the positive that you understand you're going to die, and that you live a better life because of it." ”

Interesting read sofar —that's the least descriptive statement of all time. It's provocative in the questions that it makes you ask yourself.

Pleasant book to read and my first impression is the amazement to which Bill Gates' parents and his mother in particular raised him to be successful. I was pleasantly surprised to already be 40% on the book without realizing it.

I feel bad for the person that had to read the entire audio book, so much fluff in rand's books with exciting moments interleaved. I regret hearing the entire passage regarding tooey's life and only am interested in the sections pertaining to Roarke, this book, like Atlas Shrugged could be twice as short.

I knew Roarke and Dominique Francon would get together, so predicatable between the male outlier character and Female heiress in Rand Books.

Reading the section about Peter Keating and Dominique Francon as well as Henry Cameron who just died and Lucius Heyer who has had a second stroke. And the competition designing the biggest New York City office building is about to reveal its winner.
