Disclaimer: I love John Green and his brother, Hank. And John's open and honest relationship with mental illness. I'm glad he's stopped "writing in code" through YA fiction and started writing nonfiction.

Already this book has me listening to music the author discusses within. That's a good thing!

This book is truly unputdownable. Like all good middle grade dystopian literature, it makes us think of our society as it is now and imagine a future where everything changes. It has a resourceful main character and well developed storytelling. So far, this book is a gem.

This book is written so beautifully. What a gem of a book. I want to read faster, but at the same time I want to savour it. Simply beautiful.

This book is so weird. It's very funny, but also original and fun. I think the appropriate term is quirky. I'm listening to the audiobook so I am not seeing the illustrations but the dual narrators are fabulous. Not at all what I was expecting. Not at all related to Tress of the Emerald Sea.

Adalyn Grace, you have my attention. A "historical" / fantasy murder mystery set in a potentially haunted mansion? Yes please!

This is one of the more interesting novels I've read in a long time. It makes you think, is set in some near-ish future where AI friends are the hot new commodity, and has a narrator who knows less about the world than the reader does. I'm very interested to see where this is going to go.

I read this series when I was in my 20s. My goal this year is to read my own bookshelf, so I decided to read this series again, now that I am older and possibly more of a book snob.

So, this going slowly because I'm listening to the audiobook in the car. A note on the audiobook: it is full cast and it is superb. A mature story about, well, sex, drugs, and rock and roll, as the saying goes. I'm enjoying it so far but suspect it will take a long time to finish if I keep going at this pace.

Ok, I'm hooked. It took me a bit to get into, but this one's dragging me in now! Blame Wallace... and my history of fandom involvement.

This book is like a train wreck. I don't really know what is happening, but I can't look away. I want to know what happened in the school shooting, but I sort of want to close my eyes and hold my breath until then.

This is fascinating (as with The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane - I am learning a lot!) and absorbing. So far, this is a great read about a relatively little known Korean island where women free dive for their families' livelihood. The story is told in the 1940s and in 2008 from the point of view of a free diver (haenyeo) named Young-sook.

This is tough. I want to know what it's like. How it was at the beginning for my grandmother, to have dementia. What a terrible thing, to forget everything that matters.

I'm reading this for my book club. It's taken me half the book to really get it. Up until this point I wasn't sure how to feel. But it's like a tragic play or Broadway musical. Characters fall in love, get separated, live unbearable tragedies while trying to find each other again. It's a hard read but very rewarding. I hope it has a happy ending. This is unlike anything I have ever read before.
