Really impressed by the sophomore novel of Mai Nguyen. She’s showing how much potential she has as a writer by introducing us to different themes and settings from her first novel. Bonus: I love how she does Asian representation, as the story isn’t about being Asian; it just happens that the main character is Asian.

Such a phenomenal author unknown to me previously! Her short stories are such a pleasure to read, even though they deal with painful topics.
