I know that Paul has some statements that can seem mysoginistic. As pointed out by author many also see him as progressive in issue for this time. But I have found great value in leaning into this seeming paradox. To paint Paul as a confused bigot whose thoughts bleed into his epistles is ti oversimplify cimplex theology. What bothers me is this cut and paste simolification is exactly how nationalism thrives.

Its a shame while I whole heartedly agree with need for people need to be armed against misrepresentation of Jesus mission by some Christians I have been a bit disapointed with how book arms you. Author rightly points out that many who Christians who use bible for politucal hatred dont know their bible, you dont need to ignore the bible to combat them. Gonna need another post to share specific complaint or two

This to describe the destruction of doorways from forest fires and destuction of historic places. Author says without this tge mitaculous fails to flow and change stagnates. Suggested at hands of those who want to see no change in name if money,power and progress.

But then there are sentences like this: "True love is not stagnant; it is in fact a door, through which all kinds of miraculous and damgerous things may enter"

Like the book. Not loving the embedded story. Chapter entitled "love" with no trace of irony. Gag me. Havent read it just have no desire to muscle through this part tonight.

Love this book but oddly enough the resolution of Heap section has been a bit tedius. He wraps up all details I suppose but without the antagonost its a bit of a snooze with delightful characters but a snooze all the same.
