Love this book but oddly enough the resolution of Heap section has been a bit tedius. He wraps up all details I suppose but without the antagonost its a bit of a snooze with delightful characters but a snooze all the same.

Love the characters in this book. Really enjoying changed circumstances of Betsy T. From donkeys to fires and same tough spirit.

Definite 5 star book here

I love King for his observations which are often so spot on and rarely heard "It wasn't laziness; teaching... was like having a pair of jumper cables attached to some critical part of your brain. It was good that the kids could draw power from that part, but there as precious little left over. Many nights the most creative thing of which he found himself capable was reading a few chapters..." Very good collection

Two positive thoughts after reading 2 great stories.

1. I like how each story is prefaced. Typically King saves thoughts on stories for the enx but appreciate this format.

2. Botg stories are rereads but I appreciate in the second how subtly King presents less then flattering portrait of judge. Very human and not someone I imagine liking shoukd we meet.

Admiral hood is at disadvantage to De Grasse's ships due potentially to avarice of 65 year old Rodney

First 100 pages set scene for battles leading up to Yorktown. Wherever Washington is described we also read of tense interplay with French who were needed to counterbalance the superior numbers of British ships off American coasts.

On my unread King book list.... but I definiely read at least 3 of the stories in here before. Remember liking 2 of those 3. Decided i will reread those parts startimg from beginning.

Good story despite my recent anoyance with details and plot conveniances slifhtly out of touch

Put down. Increasingly i am noting annoying plot details that suggest being a bit out of touch. Unfamiliaritybwith wawa menu also has irked me keep. Keep my wawa out of your mouth. What your describingbis the meh that is sheetz
