Reading this with a couple of students. Today one told me he'd read other DiCamillo novels, and they were always sad; "Is this a sad book?" he asked. I said we'll keep reading and see and he interrupted and said "But is it sad?" and I said well, everyone has a different opinion and he wasn't having it and he yelled "IS THIS BOOK SAD OR NOT" and this is the second time in 2 weeks I've been yelled at by a student.
