It’s the dawn of June the 5th and we discover that Islington plays the cello?! Yes, he has further been cemented in my opinion as the most superior of gentlemen.

If that isn’t the truth. 😆

Truly honest motherhood understands that genuine contentment isn't tied to circumstances. Some days will feel achingly hard, and we can take them to the Lord, completely depleted, and be granted new mercies for the morning.
Some days will zip by in a blur of happy memories, and we can take them to the Lord in praise. Some days will be utterly mundane, and we can take them to the Lord for purpose.

“…my true love is the evening walk, that last hour of daylight that has its way with sunlight, shadow, and soul.”

…there may be a poopy diaper (or three!) at our feet, but there strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow" if only we can keep our chins up and our eyes trained on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

“In the calling of motherhood, God transforms our sight and opens our eyes to the gospel dichotomies of weakness as strength, smallness as glory, inefficiency as faithfulness. Our lives and actions as mothers, surrendered to Him like loaves and fishes, can become stunning showpieces of gospel hope, glimpses of eternal hilarity and joy.”

This will be my third read-through of the Anne series, and I couldn’t be more excited. It feels like I’m about to meet up with an old friend.

Oh, friends. The presumption of thinking that some of us, with our avoidance of "obvious" sins (while the stubborn, hateful ones lie nestled in our hearts), deserve anything other than death and punishment is not lost on God.
