Please excuse the huge influx of reviews. I'm moving a bunch of stuff over from my defunct blog on Booklikes.

I keep thinking to myself "oh, this is actually enjoyable and I can't remember why I was so annoyed with it earlier" and then the main character starts talking again. -_-

So far this has mostly been smut about people I don't really like.
I don't mind the smut, but I do need to care, and I did kind of want plot.

Wow, the discussion on how a plague would feel now and how it would go so much better because we all understand how science works feels...upsettingly timely.

This is creepier when hearing Edward's comments on how much he wants to kill her and having the audiobook read by a clearly adult male.
It is now reading a LOT more like "You" than a teen paranormal romance.

It is the angstiest time of the year, where I discover somehow the books I loved are all battling against each other for some awards and also *how did I not manage to read that?!* is said at least a dozen times.

Main character: "a part of me wonders if this is all an elaborate hoax."
Me, after someone spilled weird and creepy insta-love into my elaborate feminist dystopian novel: "Same."

I can't anymore.

This is really strange to read while we're still handling the pandemic.

The eternal struggle between "is the house getting to people" or "is this person just an asshole" is real in this book.

Her husband's sketchy and I'm thinking maybe he might have a past with the house he's not admitting to.

Yes, I know, it's a thriller and somehow the husband is probably up to something. How shocking.

This is fun, though, and creepy when you listen at night.

There have been a bizarre number of five-star reads this month. I'm not sure if I got super lucky or I'm in a fantastic mood. I'm kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop either way. 😅

Darn near the whole family is a dumpster fire, dear lord.

I started this thinking I should re-read before the next book comes out and struggled for a little bit. Suddenly Part II begins. Now it's way too late and I'm sitting here thinking "oh, it's fine, I can finish this before going to bed."

I cannot. I would probably die. I'm tempted to try anyway.

Let me give a strong, strong warning for people who can't handle detailed descriptions of cutting up animals.

I am interested in seeing where this goes but I think I might set this down right now and cuddle my spaniel.

Jem is too good for words and I love him.

Oh cool, here comes the racism. Remind me never to be curious about books presenting "the truth" about things if they don't involve Bigfoot or something ever, ever again.

So I'm pretty sure this guy admitted that during his first interview he called out something intimate between two members of a band and then one of them killed themselves? I'm...I knew I was getting into something when I started this but I'm not sure I knew what.

“What are you suggesting?” said Trini. “A wall around Faerie?”

I had to double-check this was intentional and yup, timing seems correct. Not sure if I should laugh or cry.

So I somehow didn't know this was narrated by James Marsters until I started?

I was not expecting to enjoy this nearly as much as I did.

Please don't do this, oh no, this is terrible.

It's funny how "the old language" is always Latin, even in fantasy worlds.

I also have a feeling there is another reason you do that, but you know, that's fine, we all have our secrets.

There's something so cozy about settling in to a universe you know with a story you don't know.

I'm working on moving my reviews over from here to my new blog (and making sure I snatched everything from my old blog) and instead of doing it usefully I keep stopping to read them and going "Ooh! I should re-read that! That sounds awesome!"
Does anyone else do this? :p
