This is a long book! Part of me likes it, part of me wonders why an editor didn't cut the pages. The story unfolds slowly & it is interesting, but I have had to put it down & come back to it once b/c the storyline is so slow. There are two timelines going, one in 2018 & one in 1959. I do not understand why Jess in 2018 has zero understanding that her grandmother, Nora, is not going to recover enough to return home.

Listening to this. Currently on Chapter 15.

Really good so far. Good characters, well written.

So far (and I’ve only got 60 pages left) this is an awful book. Very one dimensional characters, a lot of telling instead of showing, and deeply unrealistic scenes. I can’t believe some editor thought this was worthy of printing. Trash, trash, trash.

This main character is a mess! I am at page 200 or so and I really hope there’s a lot of chaos, mess, and tumult in the last part of the story.

I'm reading this to escape the reality of life at the moment. So far it's horrible, and I'm okay with that.

Still overwrought. I wish the romance would break up because it has overshadowed the missing mother story line. Blech.

Currently it is overwrought and I am hoping it gets better.
