Very excited to see this first book in the new series by the fabulous Saadia Faruqi! This early chapter book is perfect for readers who love strong and determined characters who don’t give up even when plans don’t go the way they intended. Love the illustrations that accompany the text as well!

I listened to the audio version of this book and absolutely was enthralled! The different perspectives and the way that Jennifer interweaves their stories is masterful. I also do not know very much about World War I and I’m so glad that there is another historical fiction book I can add to my middle school library!
