Damn what a tragedy

Damn packing a punch already… crazy she can write all these stringing monologue with random characters you care about because of Annie baker’s dialogue. It’s crazy.

Thought this was going to be a dud but by the end Annie Baker makes you care so much about her characters.

One of the greatest pieces of human tragedy and triumph I’ve ever read. Inspiring and powerful. Read it if you haven’t.

I am so impressed how great historical writing is able to show you this horrifying blooming of the most despicable people and you can’t look away. It is so revealing to learn about so many different factors that lead up to and influenced the leaders of the Nazis. It’s especially shocking just how many party members Hitler cast to the side to ensure his full control.

I’m just thoroughly impressed by the writing and incredibly horrified by the private history. Well documented and well captured through the eyes of a child.

Wow I haven’t updated at all. I’ve really been taking my time with this book. Trying to savor it since it’ll be 10 years till the next book comes out. It’s so great so far. I’m at Day 5 in the journey and it’s picking up finally. Which is weird to say since it’s been so crazy, but it’s felt slow. The narrative is very spread out among different characters.

Ok ok!! Let the reread commence! ONE MORE BOOK TO GO! I’m gonna make it brando sando I swear!!

It is so incredible how much is packed into this one volume. So excited how escalated this will become.

Stunning portrait so far. I knew next to nothing about this era of invention and technological revolution and Walter Isaacson creates a very interesting portrait of the time.

To be 100% honest, I should not have started with this book as my first Agatha Christie, but damn did that ending have my jarred driving home from work at 12:30am…

Holy cow... this book is nuts, like actually ridiculous. I don't know why I thought I wouldn't like a space opera. I'm so glad I brought this on vacation and actually devoured the shit out of this thing. so incredibly fun. Review incoming!

My word this book just gets better and better. Great vacation book. I’ve just been devouring this thing. The narrative just grows bigger and bigger and more terrifying.

grim DARK!! What a way to end this book. I mean it lagged at the end more than I'd like it to have, but after reading that ending it had to slow down a little.

What a brutal end to a novel and a superb setup for the final book. I can't wait to dive into the third book. Great time and Darrow suddenly becomes a deeper character. His faults are so clear to the reader, but unclear to him. Very interesting.

Ok so I got pissed at pierce brown. He didn’t do the cool thing. Not the big exciting thing I wanted him to do. However, like the fucking beast of an author he is he says “yeah yeah, I broke my promise, but what about this?” And then my jaw hit the floor.

Pierce Brown does it again. Such a great promise at the beginning of this book that has me hooked on to this book as well. Tearing through it so far and I can't wait to see where it goes.

I will say Darrow feels fairly out of place. There is little acknowledgment of just how much change he's been through to make him as he is. I'm going to tear through this too.

I can't remember the last time I wanted to swallow a book whole like this. It is so so good. Every time I sit down with this book I read two chapters minimum if not more. It does not slow down, nor would I want it to. I'm telling you already that I'm finishing the first trilogy in June probably or at least by the end of my vacation. I see why it's somewhat derivative, but it is so smart and dark. Love it.

Finally, I have picked up this book and I've torn through it in the last twenty-four hours. I was honestly a little hesitant to start this, but it is fast. Everyone told me getting into this that it is derivative of other dystopia, but this feels unique compared to other books of this era. Hunger games? Haven't read it in a while. Young adult dystopia in general? Nothing young adult about this world. I'm back.

Back into this, I'm glad I waited and now I can give it the time it deserves. Isabel Wilkerson makes me feel stupid for not reading non-fiction earlier.

Whoops! I haven't updated in awhile. I am really enjoying this reread. I found so many m did not nearly remember as I did in the first half, but man it is so good to recount and revisit chapters with the knowledge of the whole series now. I'm loving this.

This Dewey Dell chapter is mind boggling… like completely mesmerizing and so disturbing. Fantastic pros to just capture how broken she is. Why am I suddenly in love with Faulkner?? This is crazy.

There is such a theme about how we see giving and taking. Who provides and who consumes and is there an in between. I love revisiting this series so far. I get to explore more of the peripheral parts.

I’m on a roll. Great to be back. I’m so happy to be in this world again. These characters give me so much hope and so much love in my life. Kaladin is easily my favorite character in all of fantasy. His mindset is so similar to mine and the way he deals with despair and depression is so close to my heart. He gives me hope.

Dalinar and Adolin!!! Also the interludes are so cosmere connected. I’m so glad to be back after reading all of the cosmere it makes a lot of sense. I’m so excited and motivated to continue.
