i’m throughly attached to these cowboy

dnf’d this at around the 50 percent mark because i really couldn’t get into it. it felt repetitive and depressing, and i understand that’s sort of the point—to depict the ugly truth of alcoholism—but i just couldn’t get into it.

an enthralling, albeit horrifying, depiction of a bad relationship. i felt tapered off a little at the end but overall i liked the narrator a lot and found her motives compelling and at times, painfully relatable.

i’m properly obsessed with this book!!! i work in the morning and it’s already 1:24, but i’m really hating the idea of putting this down. it’s tender and wonderfully atmospheric and compelling erotic, and i cannot get enough. it has been so long since i read a novel that caught me up in it like this

this book has a way of seeing right through the fabric of your soul. sometimes it is in a tender way but sometimes it’s in a way that makes me have to put it down and stare at the wall

i have begun recommending this to people who i know for sure won’t read it but i can’t help it. i’m obsessed. listening to this on audiobook is like having a podcast with none of those deeply unserious ads. though i will say, i could not imagine anything funnier than a betterhelp ad interrupting this.

i love learning about things i know nothing about so incredibly much that the best part of my day is listening to this 😭
