Also. I hate these friends. Terrible way to survive an apocalypse situation. Awful friends. Stop acting like feral animals to each other.

I am trying so hard to enjoy this book because so many people seem to recommend it, but the amount of backstory still being presented in this 1st person present tense novel is *dragging*. Ugh, I'm starting to skip paragraphs! DX

Meggie's like 13 or 14 in this, right? Isn't it a little odd that she thinks a 20-25 year old is "young" and less likely to know a lot? XD Most kids consider anyone older than 20 to be "old." Right? XD

Already a little annoyed at how often we switch POV and how doing so includes needing to repeat things from previous chapters, a complaint which is increased by the fact that it makes the book unnecessarily longer and the thickness of my copy hurts my thumb to hold open sometimes. 😅

The book isn't bad. It's just very allosexual and I hate it (but book club is making me read it). I started a "Murder Count" for every time I want to murder a character for making me want to vomit due to their physical attraction to each other. We are now at Murder Count 10. 😅

Yes, I would probably spontaneously combust if I had to read Fourth Wing or even ACOTAR. 😅

Reading this for bookclub. Must remember not to rate it when I'm done unless I can do so without bias of disliking mystery/suspense and string doses of allo-love.

Hot dang, this is exposition heavy.

I was on the edge of my seat through the entire section of "The End Of the Day." I need to gush about this book with someone.

This is actually really good. I'm doing the audiobook, and as ambitious as the writing is for POV switches, the reader, Joel de la Fuente, pulls. His. Weight.

Amazing.

I nearly DNFed this for the whole 2 hours of the beginning, but I am glad I pulled through the confusing, rough start. So far, it is everything and nothing that I expected. I hate the way it is written, and I also love it. I don’t think I'm gonna be able to rate it when I finish. XD

Dear gosh. This book is intense.

I am determined to finish this, but it will likely be the last book I read by this author for a while. The audiobook does not do well, but the writing drags and I'm not super connected to any of the characters. It's rather dry thus far...
