I loved the introduction, but I am so disappointed that chapter 1 started with a quote from Genesis in the Hebrew Bible and Christian Old Testament about Adam and Eve and good and evil. Also disappointed this book is written from a blatantly white American point of view. I would have expected it to be more worldly. Hopefully it doesn't continue on this trend.

Beautiful novel about love for fellow human beings, contemporary and historically. With lyrical thoughts of truly living in the moment and letting go of things you can't control. I'd recommend to anyone.

Interesting how Ms. Nayeri can flip between the narratives of a 20-something daughter and 50-something father so smoothly. Enjoying this so far. Takes a little while to start understanding the characters as things develop.

I had forgotten what a great writer Ms. Ferrante is. Wonderful read.
