I’m having having too much fun, been staying up way too late many nights. I’m reading on my kindle app so keep being surprised at how much book is left. Every hundred pages or so I think surely this is the climax; so exciting, such satisfying character and story arcs, but lucky for me there is still much to enjoy.

I’m already dreading finishing this book because I fear I will never encounter a better-written character than Malta Vestrit (but thankfully the Robin Hobb universe is quite deep, so odds are high that I actually will)

We all love when books start with maps, but how about “those of you reading on a kindle device, it may be difficult to access the glossary without losing your place. If you want to reference the glossary online, you can view it here.” OH BOY buckle up

The character work in this book is so good. I viscerally and verbally react almost every chapter

Mad at myself for taking so long to read this, mad at my book club for not voting for it multiple times. It’s so good already; so dreamy, magical, suspenseful. I feel teleported when I read. SAMMI WAS RIGHT

Most accurate writing of a 12 year-old girl I’ve ever read: unhinged, dramatic, embarrassing (but you don’t even know to be embarrassed) - but mostly just unhinged.

I hate Kyle. Love that in a fantasy world with beautiful names, the biggest asshole is simply Kyle. My distaste for this character elevated my heart rate and made it hard to sleep.

This book had a FUN and SWEET description, but I am NOT having FUN I AM CRYING ALREADY WTF
