Quick read so far. Engaging enough story, but I wish it took a little more time on moments that feel important. However I’m enjoying it very much!

Well, I got this book for free from a friend, and I was not expecting to be so ENCHANTED right from the beginning. What a charming and delightful air of Victorian angst mixed with a Potter-esque childhood adventure.

“But perhaps all pretty things had thorns. The best things, at least, most certainly did.”

So far, the story itself is intriguing enough to get me past the slighlty off-putting writing style ... Yes, I am a POV snob and I don't think there should be *that* many exclamation points in non-dialogue narration, however I am excited to see where we're heading next.

“My evolution as a violinist has included many thrilling performances, and I still love what I do, but there are times when even I get burned out. When this happens, I go back to that moment ten years ago. I picture myself on the stage with my bow in the air. I feel my heart racing, I see the faces in the audience smiling, and I remember the moment I thought, "I have to make this my life.”

Well THIS is already wonderful
