Much, much better than Little Stranger! Malachi is much more understandable now, and is totally NOT a villain. Their mother, however, deserves what she got. Glad the relationship with the dad was reconciled. I loved this book so much more than the first.

I cannot stand this female narrator. She has no idea of the emotions needed to voice the queen. She is grating on my freaking nerves.

So far, this book is extremely freaking boring. The narrator sucks. She has a pretty voice don’t give me wrong. But her entire reading tone is soul tree, sexy, and slow. There is no tone inflection for the actual emotions of the characters in the book.And after reading 2/3 of this book… All I’ve heard is whining from the main female character.

Ok. Chapter 13: Though I understand all the females rallying around Layla, as a mother myself, I get why they want to keep Layla in the young’s lives. But…I agree with Wrath that she needs to go, and visitations should be supervised. I’m Team Qhuinn 100%. And Blay does have a point, Qhuinn wouldn’t have said what he did if he didn’t secretly feel that way. But I’ve been there too.

Up to Chapter 9: I totally support Qhuinn in his instinct to protect his young. Yes, in a blind fit of rage, he pulled a gun on Layla while she was holding the twins. I have real life experience in this exact same situation. In his mind, he would kill Layla to protect his children. And I’m totally on board with that. As for what he said to Blay, that was said in the heat of rage, in a panic black out.

I’ve read the reviews for this book already. And before I go into this, I’m gonna say that I absolutely love Qhuinn & never liked Layla. I also feel that Blaylock’s presence has been severely diminished. I prefer the independent, strong willed Blaylock from before he & Qhuinn got together. Also, Torh needs to treat Autumn better, & she needs to stand up to him again. That’s just based on the previous books.
