reading some of this makes me feel like the world has unfortunately gone backwards in the last decade. not that it hasn’t been obvious, but the proof being in my hand is still a little confounding

“You’ve been working hard being such a girlboss.”
“Please never say that again.”

— the only time i accept this in a book —

i love it already

of course colonialism and the church are massive parts of the problem

dog eats dog world

men have been infuriating since the dawn of time

Ohhhh this book is trippy trippy

rough start but its growing on me

fighting for my life not to dnf

it’s good but the pacing is quite slow

I wanna strangle the main character. She is so AHHHH i need her to get her karma

hello??? what was that chapter??? why does leigh bardugo like hurting me???

poor zoya,, im sobbing

Sabina is an awful and disgusting person and so is Valentin Grankin

The Joost POV will never not throw me off. I've seen it enough times to know that's how this book starts and yet I'm always shocked.

Mal said something... tolerable? Finally. I had to wait over two and a half series for this.

The Darkling is truly despicable, I don't get how people can support him. Anyways, this book is so short and feels so long. It's dragging me into a ridiculous reading slump. I'm forcing myself to finish the final 30 percent.

Still a Mal hater if that hasn't been emphasized enough. Anyway, I read Ketterdam and I miss the crows. I feel like the show is better solely because it includes the crows (as much as there is so much detail lacking, I don't really care about Alina and her story). Although I must say, I love Nikolas and I'm looking forward to his book after the crows.

I genuinely wish this book would go faster. I'm so done with Alina and Mal. Reading this to get to the crows is unfortunate and a chore at this point. If only my brain would let me skip automatically to the crows. Side note, Nikolai my love I'm so happy you're alive (as if he doesn't have a series of my own occurring after the events of this book).

Just ditch Mal please. Alina is intolerable with Mal. There are so many other options out there.

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to spend time with Mal. Seriously just ditch him and leave him to the Volcra.

Mal is such a toddler gosh. Alina, babe, you deserve so much better than a child.

The introduction to Sturmhond, perfectuon

I am thoroughly enjoying the final 4%

I love the Darkling in the I love this villain type of way. Like, this is a good villain. Awful person but is a great awful person

"And still I'd been too weak to do what needed to be done."

I could not agree more. I swear Mal and Alina are testing my patience (more so Mal).
