Already… what a skilled balance of humour, sensitivity, and wisdom. So impressive and so immersive.

There's no way I would have been able to get through the rest of this book even if I wanted to. It could have been so profound if Valarie Kaur's writing didn't come off as so insanely self-righteous. It's really not groundbreaking stuff if you have empathy and are not an asshole.

im sorry this book is so excruciatingly boring. im really struggling here.

Also, this book is definitely up there on the "best opening lines of all time" list.
