This cover is scandalous

Final books are usually fast-paced and pact with informations and revealings. Strangely enough, this book is painfully slow.
Besides Silk, there are multiple and lengthy POVs. This is, by no means, an usual ending

How can you write a bird, yes a bird, so likeable and cute? I'm invested in this bird more than majority of other series' proantagonists.
I love Oreb with his short lines, "Good, Silk!"

A god was finally appeared on the window, and the whole thing was skipped over. Seriously Gene?
I'm so mad that I WANT TO MARCH OVER TO YOU'RE GRAVE, gently thank you for writing this book, AND ANGRILY COME ALL THE WAY BACK to continue the book.

Also what is it with spooky chapter endings?

I'm not even done for the day to write an update, but I've got to say this: I think I'm going to love this book. I think I already do

I am liking it

The story seems simple enough and I seriously miss the Severian's prose, but I'm faring much better than my first attempt.
Curious to see how complex and complicated matters will get as things progress further on.

I have no idea what was the point of that dream.
It was a big Fuck you! to subtlety, and the story wasn't exactly subtle about Baru's conflicted royalties.

مثلث عشقی داستان، که خود بیشتر از هرچیز به چند خط شکسته میماند تا یک مثلت، حسابی من را به فکر برده است.
عشق بیمارگونه عاشق که خانم را فراری میدهد، دکتر که به لطف ثروت و موقعیت اجتماعی خود ازدواج با خانم را تثبیت میکند، خانم که از عشق عاشق دست شسته و حسی هم به دکتر ندارد؛ تا البته سفر ماه عسل اروپا زمینه‌ساز عشق‌شان میشود (آن هم به فرانسه! امان از دستت ای دکتر حیله‌گر :))

Some of these dialogues are immensely powerful, dynamic and real. Even when they get lengthy, especially then.

This is turning into a very different story than the one before.
It is still too soon to judge, but I liked the last one better in the same span of pages.

Oh my god!
You know what, fuck Poppy Wars. This much, much better.

I see a few similarities between this one and the Poppy War opening.
Here, in only a few pages, there's worldbuilding, culture, politics and characters drama. A great test to be prepared for years, and a talented young woman.
In stark contrast, in Poppy War a young woman studies for a test in few month and gets the first place. No drama, politics, characterization, no anything. A crude writing.

I'm bored.

I'm a simple man; I see beautiful prose, I like.

این همه کتاب از جنگل خریدم، همه تینیجری کسشر از کار دراومد، اینو که نخریدم اینقدر خوبه!

At the start of the book:
Person A tells Harry he must kill person B.
Harry: Ok, I'm going to do absolutely everything else and not do that particular task.

At the halfway point:
Person B tells Harry that Person A is crazy and they must be killed.
Harry (probably for rest of the book): Ok, I'm going to do absolutely everything else and not do that particular task.

At this point, this is getting longer than necessary.
I really don't like prolonging the story and it feels like that's exactly what is happening right now.

There are two aspects of this book when I think about it. The storytelling by Stephen Fry is outstanding and marvelous.
But its story ... is terrible. Pity, childish, immature so-called "gods".
It is my first time reading through these mythologies and I would have hate them if it wasn't because of Fry's excellent work.

It's fascinating how much a humorous author may be able to achieve.

I just had this image of Lindon, Yerin and Ruby having a threesome.
Great. Just great.

Lindon endangered himself, Little
Blue, Mercy and the whole tournament for someone who he didn't even know.
And it all ended up for nothing, the dude died two minutes later.. What was that?!

This series is something special, isn't it?

از عواقب تماشای فصل دوم ویچر.
البته که سریال بهتر از کتاب‌هاست، و به ندرت چنین اتفاقی میوفته.

The second half is suffering from slow pacing. The plot is almost forgotten now and story feels like a stretch.
Dividing the main cast is the main issue here; the synergy and interactions between the main characters is seriously missing. You can't write a character-driven narrative if you're trying to keep them separate from each other for, at least, 80% of the story.

ببینید، یکی از قشنگی‌های این مجموعه بِدِکت هست که یک عاقله در برابر دنیایی از دیوانه‌ها. زیر سوال بردن سلامت عقل اینجا مهمه، تنش ایجاد میکنه و خیلی چیز دیگه.
هیچ نباید و نشدنی برای نویسنده وجود نداره! نحوه انجامش اهمیت داره و این مسیری که کتاب پیش گرفته یه کوچولو نگرانم میکنه. ببینیم آقای فلچر چه میکنه در ادامه.
شک کردن خوبه، همینجا نامتعادل خواننده رو نگه دار، معلق. در نهایت بگم که بینهایت این مجموعه رو دوست دارم.

This series is crazy.

حدود سه ماه پیش بود که علاقمند شدم راجع به ردپای تکامل در جنین (fetus) انسان و حیوانات بخونم. گشتم ولی چیزی پیدا نشد، تو ردیت درخواست معرفی کتاب دادم ولی هیچی. تا اینکه دیروز خواهرم اشاره به درس جنین‌شناسی کرد. گویا بهترین چیزی که فعلا گیرم میاد همینه.
خوندن این کتاب طول خواهد کشید. احتمالا همراه بشه با هم‌خوانی جزوه‌های خواهرم و سوال پرسیدن از خودش و یا استادش.
