I'm really liking this, although I would argue against the "ground breaking-ness" of the reviews. Margaret Atwood broke this ground back in the late 80s with The Handmaid's Tale. The ideas here are still important, and important to get out in the YA market.

This book is making my head hurt. It's *very* technically complex.

So far, it's excellent. I think I once started reading it, but never finished.

Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar? *shudder* They remind me of the cheerfully psychotic twins in Outlast (a video game). I wonder if the game's writer was influenced by this pair in Neverwhere.
