The Years of Lyndon Johnson Set: The Path to Power; Means of Ascent; Master of the Senate; The Passage of Power
I’ve just finished the first of four volumes of Caro’s mammoth biography of LBJ. Long on politics and machinations, very short on personal life—I.e. marriage, children affairs. A real slog.

The Years of Lyndon Johnson Set: The Path to Power; Means of Ascent; Master of the Senate; The Passage of Power
I’ve just finished the first volume —the Path to Power—of this four volume biography of LBJ. Long in politics and political machinations, short on personal life such a marriage, affairs and children. A real slog.

American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer
A masterful biography well deserving of the Pulitzer it earned. But be prepared for lots of incomprehensible science.

The Books of Jacob
The longest and most trying book I’ve ever attempted to read. I feel like I will never be done with it
