I'm sad. There's a reason why this is a DNF for people but it's not the reason they provide. It's a **""**** huge missed opportunity to push boundaries. The authors got stuck in either or thinking. Oh, sure, they push with the 4 th wall broken chapter but it's still either or thinking.

I can't finish this. Who proof read this? PG 2: "The two men are familiar with these ports" (Scarlet gang). .... "And the five white flowers talking animatedly in Russia." These are the members to clash on the port. One random person dies in a heavily crowded area. Contrast with pg 72: "Eight men clash on the ports of Shanghai - seven to rip out their own throats, one escapes." Who proof read this?

I'm not sure how a city decided it was threatened with wide spread disease/madness and everyone is needing vaccination since the initial incident caused 6 ppl to die and one random later. Seems to me if Shanghai is compared to New York and Paris ( as it is in the book) people would be fairly intelligent and have common. sense.

I doubt, with great severity, that the writer has ever been across a border or understands shipping. I generally don't talk back loudly to books.

You know it's a good book when it's so full of new things to look up.

Interesting read. So far with the way the main character is written, I'd thought there would be a cool twist of the unknown and he'd be gay. I'm pretty sure I've figured out the gray King's identity. Going to finish to see if I'm right.

This is full of unexpected twists and turns, which makes for enjoyable reading. It is strong on science but sometimes weak on human nature.
