Starting to feel less dumb… but wondering if I’m starting to dislike the book. Idk if it’s the plot, characters or writing itself. Something feels off… maybe it was overhyped? Still early days tho, stay tuned.

I feel like I need AR tests after each chapter to improve my reading comprehension. I haven’t read a book in over a month, let alone high(er) fantasy … got me feeling dumb out here

I read the first 20 pages or so on the train ride home from The Ripped Boddice when Trin bought this over Thanksgiving… I now have my own 6 months later. Hype to read this as I work my last Hadestown shift 3

Started at the beach but it’s not rlly a beach book - or at least I didn’t get to the beachy part before leaving the beach. Also kinda got annoyed in chapter one. I’m not super fond of contemporary authors comparing their characters to those in classic lit or other iconic stories bc 1. It does essentially spoil the plot 2. Feels unoriginal and slightly cheating

I want to finish this so badly. And I’m worried if I don’t I won’t be able to finish the other Austen novels and then I can cross it off my bingo card. And that’ll be a big bummer.
