This is ok I guess, I like the knowledge of how these neighborhoods are functioning, like a Clyborne Park situation, but Chona is the only character whose story I really enjoy

This is feeling like an occultist version of Hail, Caesar

This main character is getting more and more unlikeable and less and less capable of surviving even the next 24 hours in this story

This doesn’t quite have the narrative style I was hoping for but it is PACKED with info

It has taken me until now to feel like we’re movin and groovin in the right direction again

The male audiobook reader for this sucks, he takes any and all emotion that the author has put into the story out of it

Ok so, this is basically frenemy drama the whole way through. I thought we would get more complex thoughts in this but it’s a teenager trying to look good to another petty teenager and maybe steal someone else’s boyfriend, while all the other teenagers around her are married and trying to get pregnant.

Working through this to finish, and I can’t say I’m as interested as I was before. The myth pieces are getting a little looser like they usually do with Arthurian legend, and it’s making my interest wane.

This is losing some steam for me in the plot/style area, it’s dragging quite a bit but there is still a lot of rich history

Mmmmmkk I’m starting to see it. Differing style. Crazy conservative perspective on economy and patriarchy. Mildred in Switzerland.

Bonds - section 1 - written in third person and very matter of fact writing style that felt very classical. The tragedy in this first section was beautifully done. I still don’t understand the significance of the aliases for each section.
