I can already tell that this is going to be a book that'll encourage me to keep reading and reading and reading until the last page. It's already making me wonder....it's already starting to creep me out!

I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this book but, WOW, I'm so sucked into this story now that it's difficult to place my bookmark and close the pages!
I'm in love with the characters....every one of them!

Heartbreaking to realize that some children really do grow up in such horrid situations 💔 with a verbally, mentally & physically abusive mother! And THIS is a real true life story! Heartbreaking!

While reading this I can't help but wonder about the life experiences my grandparents, aunts & uncles lived in the City of Brotherly Love during this time frame. They immigrated from Poland between 1906 - 1912; my mother was born in 1919 which tells me that my grandmother was pregnant during the deadly 1918 flu epidemic.
I'm drinking every word of this story and Pia's life.

Not sure if I’ll finish this book. There’s nothing in this story enticing me to keep reading; there’s no storyline forcing me to read on and to keep turning pages. I really had such high hopes for this book.

All I can say right now is....WOW!
I'm not even halfway through this book yet I already know that this story will stick in my mind forever!
I've always known that decades ago many pregnant teenagers were forced to give up their newborn babies without ever seeing them or holding them but this is the first book that I've ever read on the subject of forced adoptions.
Such a gripping story; it's hard to stop reading!
