It’s very good

At first I was skeptical of the book cus it had so many nee characters in the beginning, I couldn’t really keep up (mostly due to my fragmented reading patterns). Now I like it! The main character is a married woman with two children - totally not stereotypical protagonist. The book has political events in the background and discussions about them and privilege and classes, I’m learning.

Finished it in April. Left the book at a this camp next tk the Red Sea cus they didn’t have any other Egyptian books in English.
I struggle to rate books with less than 5 stars haha, it was really good!

I have almost 4 hours left to listen. It’s a damn good book, but listening takes more time. Anyone have a physical copy in Tartu?
Also how did you picture Gloria? I have a certain image, but in my head she’s definitely not blond.

Addictive and full of humour from the start

Oh, this feels like way more my style than the previous romantic books. It’s about a young dandy, at least at first quite careless about money and status (he has enough of both), but rather focusing on people, psychology, observing.

Wow.
What an interestingly written story.

The book describes the 19th century Sussex beautifully in the background. I especially like the small funnily worded comment sized insights to the Sussex village people general collective mindset - like their reaction to the events around the invisible man.
The story itself is quite my genre: taking place in a possible reality, but with a small tweak of something unnatural
